At first glance, the city of London is a great place that could be somewhat impersonal and aggressive for children. But it is a deceptive experience because London hides places fun for children that also could be educative a full of historical experiences.

Entertainment options for children in London

Although London is a city full of entertainment options for adults, this city does not forget children and offers wonderful attractions for them:

London Trocadero

The Trocadero building -next to Piccadilly Circus- is a paradise for children and youth. It houses a world of fun with flight simulators, high-tech video games, billiards, bowling and many other indoor sports and amusement activities.

While the kids are having fun, parents can go to an internet cafe, cinemas, shopping centre and restaurants in the same Trocadero complex. Hungry, maybe? All family can go for a burger or international dish at Planet Hollywood or Rainforest Café theme restaurants where you can get some chow at the same time you have fun with the decoration and memorabilia.

London Zoo

Located within the grounds of Regents Park, the London Zoo has a huge variety of animals and green areas. Children are the primary audience and the Zoo, but adults use to have a great time there too.

This scary experience could be funny or terrifying for your kids depending on how keen are they on Halloween like situations. The dungeons can be quite strong for sensitive kids (and parents) but not more than some theme parks or carnival attractions.

This tour visits a series of dungeons that recall medieval Europe tortures and executions. Ideal place for morbid and horror movie lovers.

London Aquarium and London Eye

The aquarium is located in a former municipal building and today offers a beautiful exhibition of marine ecosystems and coral reefs found all around the world. This is considered the ultimate ecological experience inside a big city.

In front of the aquarium, we find the famous London Eye Ferris wheel; a very popular attraction where you can enjoy exceptional aerial views of the city.

Both places are located on the south bank of the Thames river, just in front of the Big Ben and the Parliament.

Several retail stores owned by Disney and Warner are located on Regent Street. Another store that worth a visit is the famous Hamely’s store, considered by many as a toy paradise where you can find any kind of toy you want, but sometimes at a gold price.

Other nice places for children are the Science Museum, Madame Tussaud’s Wax museum, Pollock’s toy museum or Bethnal Green Museum of Childhood.
